Amazon is calling all gamers this week, inviting people to play two of Bigpoint’s featured MMO titles for free.
As part of the “Game of the Week” feature, which spotlights new Amazon digital games, Battlestar Galactica Online and Drakensang Online are free-to-play through Saturday.
“We’re excited to be working with Amazon on this initiative as we continue to make our games available to gamers worldwide,” Ed Kim, Bigpoint Inc. head of business development, said in a statement.
Kim called Battlestar Galactica and Drakensang “exceptionally dynamic” titles that the studio believes will be well received by Amazon customers.
Based on the Emmy Award-winning Syfy TV series Battlestar Galatica, the video game version allows players to engage in space combat through mission-based gameplay, set against the backdrop of high-quality, 3D graphics. Choose between the Human or Cylon characters in the game’s never-ending struggle to control the universe.
Drakensang Online, Bigpoint said, is an action-packed, hack-n-slash fantasy multi-player role-playing game in which players follow a mysterious adventure through the game to become a warrior against the evil of Anderworld. The game’s 100-plus hours of content includes challenging quests and an armory of weapons.
Game Connect was launched in July to provide Amazon customers a venue to discover and purchase virtual items to be sent directly to their linked game account. A small group of developers, including Bigpoint, were selected for the debut of the connective feature.
“With the launch of Game Connect, millions of new users can access Bigpoint’s titles more conveniently,” Kim said.
