Western Digital just launched the 500GB My Passport Essential Limited Edition designs portable hard drive which designed by students at California State University, Long Beach’s Industrial Design program and available in Boom Box, Black Hole, Cityscape, Fuchsia Leaf and Wave patterns.

The Western Digital 500GB My Passport Essential feature user-selected password protection combined with 256-bit hardware-based encryption and bundled with WD SmartWare software, which provides a simple, visual method for backup using a single-screen view of the drive’s contents.  The new 500GB My Passport Essential limited edition designs is now available at Best Buy for $119.99.
